To ensure the functionality of the application, specifically to connect to your Ember Mug hardware, we require specific permissions on your mobile device.
"This app uses Bluetooth and/or Location Services solely to scan for and connect to your Ember Mug locally. We do not collect, store, or transmit your physical location data to any external server."
Location Permission (Fine/Coarse): On the Android operating system (specifically Android 11 and lower), scanning for Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) devices requires the "Location" permission. This is an operating system requirement because BLE beacons can theoretically be used to determine a user's location.
Nearby Devices Permission: On Android 12 and higher, we utilize the "Nearby Devices" permission to scan for the mug without needing your physical location.
Bluetooth Permission: On iOS, we explicitly request permission to access Bluetooth. This access is used exclusively to detect and communicate with your Ember Mug. iOS does not require Location services for this specific type of Bluetooth connection, and we do not request GPS access on iOS devices.
For a better experience while using our Service, we may require you to provide us with certain personally identifiable information. The information that we request will be retained on your device and is not collected by us in any way.
The app does use third-party services that may collect information used to identify you for the purpose of app stability and analytics.

This Log Data may include information such as your device Internet Protocol ("IP") address, device name, operating system version, the configuration of the app when utilizing our Service, the time and date of your use of the Service, and other statistics.
